Obituary

Paul F. Gay, 65, a longtime resident of Brockton, died Thursday, August 26, 2010, suddenly at his home in Brockton. He was the husband of Karen (Addison) Gay. Born in Stoughton, he was raised and educated there. After graduating from Stoughton High School he joined the U.S. Army and served his country in the Vietnam War. Paul lived in Brockton for the last 43 years and had just retired from the Shaw’s Supermarket where he worked for over 45 years before retiring 3 years ago. He was a member of the VFW Post 1645 and the AMVETS Post 1977 both in Stoughton and the Stoughton Fish & Game. His hobbies included fishing, gardening and spending time with his family and friends, especially his beloved grandchildren. Gay Street in Stoughton is named after the Gay family.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children: Lisa Gay Monteiro and her husband Robert Monteiro of Plymouth, Paul Gay, Jr. of Bridgewater and Stacey Teixeira and her husband Luis of Stoughton. He is also survived by his brothers, Richard Gay and his wife Rosemarie of Brockton & Robert Gay and his wife Linda of Felton, DE. Predeceased by his sister Eleanor Corkum. Paul is also survived by his grandchildren: Michelle Gay (U.S. Air Force – Qatar), Alicia Gay, Angelica & Katrina Pierni, Maddison & Tyler Teixeira. He was also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27), Stoughton on Thursday, September 2 at 10 AM. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8 PM. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
