Obituary

Thelma N. “Sis” ( Vandersnoek) Walsh, a longtime resident of Stoughton passed away after a long courageous battle with cancer on Saturday July 21, 2012. She was 76 years old and the beloved wife of the late Joseph P. Walsh. Other survivors include her two daughters, Joanne M. Holmes and her husband Ronald Holmes Jr. of South Easton, Karen McKenna and her husband Dan McKenna of Bridgewater, her sister Rita Ladue of Jamaica Plain, her niece Janet Ladue and nephew Steven Ladue, grandchildren, Danielle and Patrick Kippenhan of South Easton, Kelley Walsh and Joseph McKenna of Bridgewater and her great-granddaughter Chloe Marie. Other survivors include her three step-grandchildren, Ronny, Heather and Ashley Holmes. She was also a twin to her late brother Simon Vandersnoek.

Mrs. Walsh was born on June 8, 1936 in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts. She was a loving daughter to the late Margaret M. (Gallivan)and Maurice Vandersnoek. She attended Boston Public Schools.

Thelma was a dedicated homemaker/housewife and mother. Her hobbies included shopping and spending quality time with her family and friends. ”Sis” was also a communicant and attended the Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday July 24, 2012 from 4 - 8 P.M. in the Sheehan Funeral Home, 115 Monk Street, Stoughton.Her funeral mass will be held on Wednesday July 25, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. from the Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton Street, Rt. 27 Stoughton. The Pastor Rev. Joseph P. McDermott, officiating. Burial will follow at 1:00 P.M. in the MA National Veterans Cemetery, Bourne. All are welcome to attend.
